The Best Notebook List Ideas

I have been using the Erin Condren Take Note Coiled Notebook Line for well over 8 years now and I have loved them ever since first laying eyes on them. My first love will most definitely always be The Classic Erin Condren Vertical Weekly Planner. But I do like using my notebooks to help with my anxiety though creativity such as stamping, list making, highlighters and colorful lists. When it comes to Bullet Journaling my go to notebook is the Leuchttrum.

The Erin Condren Notebook come in many different options when it comes to sizes and page style. They come in a large variety of sizes and styles. She has 3 different sized coiled notebooks and 2 or 3 different sizes of bound notebooks. There is also the folio system and petite planner line. The petite planner is really similar to the A5 softcover notebook.

You can save 10$ off your purchase with Erin Condren right here.

If the Erin Condren Folio System sounds like something you would like to try, I did make a blog post and also filmed a YouTube Video on The Erin Condren Folio System And Petite Planner Line. You can watch that review video or read my blog post if you are interested.
Just click on the graphic below and you will be automatically sent to the post.

With The Erin Condren's Notebook you can choose from multiple page styles such as the productivity, dot grid, blank or lined pages. The coiled Erin Condren Notebook also has the interchangeable covers just as the Classic Erin Condren Life Planner. You also have a sheet of header stickers coiled into the back, right before the back cover, of you notebook. The bound notebooks do not have stickers inside but do have built in page holder ribbons.

This next step sounds funny but I swear it works. Plan out what you want to use your notebook for, I can’t even remember how many times I started in a notebook without a plan and messed up so many pages. This seems like such a simple process however it’s really harder then you think. First Off because of the fear of messing up a page but however, with the coiled version you can rip out a page or multiple pages if you were to mess up, unlike the bound notebooks.

And we have all been in this position at one point in time. This is why I wanted to put this blog post together. So I can give anyone the inspiration and or courage on how to set up and use your notebook properly. And a bonus I have added to this post, some of the best stationery to use with your notebook to up your list making game.

A monthly overview page is basically how it sounds, a overview of the month. You can add many different lists to this one or two page monthly overview. A monthly calendar may seem intimidating at first but all you need is a ruler and pencil then your good to go. You can even use planner or bullet journal stencils if you have them to ensure strait accurate lines. I will link a few of my favorite shops that sell stencils below. You can get basic shape stencils to layout stencils.

Reading Tracker

A reading tracker can consist of books you’ve already read, books you want to read or even a little bit of both. This page can be as fancy or as plain as you want. You can add stamping, stickers, colored pens or markers or even just a running list. I’ve saw some amazing book list on Pinterest.

Daily Or Weekly Habits You Want To Follow

Habits are crucial to having a smooth running household. Not only do habits calm your anxiety and lower your stress levels, if you have kids it will help them also tremendously. You can even just make a daily habits list or even just a weekly habits list. Then again you could add both. The choice is yours.

Routines For The Day

As mentioned above with the habits, routines turn into a habit. By doing the same thing everyday you will create a habits. It takes some discipline especially if your a procrastinator such as myself but it does actually work. I suggest reading Mel Robbins book called The 5 Second Rule. This is especially great for all of us who are procrastinators or just lazy at times.
Mel Robbins explains how she had struggled then figured out a formula to instill habits by counting backwards 5,4,3,2,1. By doing this is made her turn her routines into a daily habit. So if your ever need to get something done use the 5 second rule. I highly suggest you get this book though. There’s so much more behind it that you need to read.

Wheel Chart

Wheel Charts to me are super fun being I love creativity and to highlight and add color to my lists. Get yourself a circle stencil from Michaels, mine is from the happy planner. Make sure you get the stencil with layers of circles within a big circle. A wheel chart can be used for anything your heart desires. And colored in with color pencils or art markers.

Weekly Cleaning List

A weekly cleaning list is big items broken up each day. Such as cleaning your bathroom, mopping floors, cleaning bedrooms, cleaning the basement or home office and so on. This a a running weekly chore list that has to be done every week that you add one chore to each day along with your daily routine.

Cleaning Room By Room

This is a great list to have to keep track of everything in your home that needs cleaning whether it’s weekly, bi weekly, monthly or seasonal. This is broken down in rooms and underneath each room is every task that needs to get done. You can then make separate lists for bi weekly cleaning, monthly cleaning and even seasonal cleaning. All though I suggest you make a separate list for spring cleaning and fall cleaning.

Social Media Tracker

If you have a blog, biz, YouTube channel or your just a influencer. Tracking your social media is a must. The things you should be tracking is when you post, the engagement, your followers, link clicks, likes, dislikes and the list keeps going. I suggest you make a list for each social media platform your on and go from there.

A birthday and anniversary list is a great list to keep if your super forgetful such as myself. You can create two columns or use two pages, this can be as plain or as fancy as you would like it to be. The choices are endless.

I know I never think about self care. That’s why I added this to my list, self care is so important to keep yourself on your game and energized. If you neglect yourself then what happens to everyone who depends on you. This list can be so simple from washing your face nightly, showering, drinking more water, brushing your teeth and so on. These seem like no brained but when your busy with kids you forget about yourself. I know I’m super guilty of all of this. Make sure you set aside time for self care, your kids will thank you in the long run.

Favorite Quotes

We all have them quotes we love and will screenshot or pin to Pinterest. This is more for creativity and helping you pull through bad days. Make them pretty, do some lettering and use highlighters.

Grocery List And Meal Ideas

I figured that I put these two together being they basically go hand in hand.
A Master Grocery List is every food item inside your kitchen that you buy regularly. From here you can build off the master list when you are making a food shopping list.

The Meal Idea List is a great choice so you don’t eat the same shit over and over. If you have kids get them involved, let them add some meals to this list. Trust me your kids will love this idea. And it will give you way more options. Let’s be realistic, after having kids our brains don’t really function like they used to.

Favorite Podcasts

Who doesn’t love podcasts, I know I’m obsessed with the true crime podcasts. In this list you will add all your favorite podcasts, name, station and category.

Now We Will Be Talking Stationery To Up Your Note Taking Game.

Stencils

Stencils are a wonderful tool when you have trouble making strait lines. You can get planner and bullet journal stencils all over Etsy. I’ve also have gotten stencils from Love Cynthia. Love Cynthia is my go to shop for clear stamps but she also sells stencils. Her stencils come in personal size and A5 size. Her A5 size stencils are punched to store inside a ring bound planner. Another shop I highly suggest is Dear Lily Designs on Etsy for stencils. She sells credit card sized stencils in every shape and pattern needed to create the perfect layout. They are also super easy to take on the go and store because of the size.

Highlighters

I love highlighters just as much as I live pens. My favorite highlighters are the Stabilio Boss. You can get them in a large variety of colors from pastels to neons. Another favorite of mine are the Erin Condren Highlighters.

A Ruler

If you do not have stencils or just prefer a to use a ruler. You can get these anywhere and in multiple sizes. A ruler is a great tool for making different layouts ensuring that the lines are completely straight.

Colored Pencils Or Art Markers

Depending on whatever you use is totally up to your preference. Colored pencils I feel can be easier to use and much cheaper. Though the Art Markers such as copic markers are great for stamping and coloring in artwork to look realistic. The alcohol art markers however tend to bleed through your pages where as the colored pencils do not.

Washi Tape

Washi Tape is another huge favorite among the planner community. You should see the prints on this washi tapes these days they are so pretty. You can use them as a decorative header or footer. Also you can find the super thin washi tape and use it as dividers in your notebook.

Stickers

Stickers are such a huge addiction for me… Seriously. I’ve collected probably thousands upon thousands of stickers and sticker kits over my 8-9 years planning and can’t stop ordering them still. Ask anyone in the planner community what their weaknesses are besides planners. Stickers I am almost certain is the next answer. And stickers aren’t just for planning, you can use them in any notebook as well to give it a pop of color. I love using stickers in my notebooks!
